Från programbladet: Dear audience, athletes, sponsors and officials,
I warmly welcome you to Stockholm, Sweden, to IFSA Strong Man Super Series Sweden GP, which is a part of the official World Championship Tour.
The World Championship title is awarded to the athlete that collect most points from the GP's that are included in the tour. In 2001 the Super Series World Championship title was won by Magnus Samuelsson from Sweden. This year after the first Super Series GP held in Scotland in the month of June Svend Karlsen, Norway is in first position followed by Hugo Girard, Canada and Janne Virtanen, Finland.
Now you will see Svend Karlsen trying to defend his pole position in Super Series against Girard and the other top ranked athletes. Mariusz Pudzianowski from Poland, Juha Räsänen from Finland, Savickis and Bergmanis from Baltic Republics, Brian Schoonveld from USA will do everything to fight for the Stockholm GP title and battle Sven Karlsen for the World Championship title. Super Series final for 2002 is held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
We also welcome the Swedes competing for the honor of Sweden, as well as the founder of IFSA Doctor Douglas Edmunds, chief judge. Pulling a 10 tonne truck 20 meters using harness and rope. Fastest time wins.
3. B&K SPORTS MAGAZINE Benchpress
Getting as many reps as possible on a 200 kg weight.
4. MONDO Car Wheelbarrow
Lifting the back of a car and wheeling it along a 25 meter track. Fastest time wins.
5. WORLD CLASS Atlas Stones
Lifting five stones at 110-160 kg each up to a 130 cm high platform. Fastest time wins.
6. HAMMER STRENGTH Power Stairs
Carrying 180, 220 and 250 kg weights up a series of steps. Fastest time wins.
7. RADISSON SAS Medley
A combination of three tyre flips (350 kg), 15 meter Farmer's Walk (125 kg x 2) and Barrel loading (3 x 90 kg). Fastest time wins.
