I started training at the age of 18, having been swimming at a rather high level throughout the school years. I've always been slim, but when I was swimming the most, the widest part of my body was my knees. I even got to hear things like: "How can you expose yourself being so thin?"
When I quit swimming my teenage body finally got the chance to develop, but I still had a rather straight body and wanted more bottom, shoulders and back, to get more female curves. I started going to the gym, and since I am 170 cm's and at the time weighed slightly below 50 kilos, I had to gain quite a lot of muscles to prevent the 'pole' look. Ha ha.
My ideal is to be fit with female curves rather than thin. I think a woman should have curves, and I earn those by training. For me training is a part of my life. A lifestyle that I really and truly enjoy. I train about 5 times a week, and do it with people who inspire me.
Given the opportunity to work with training - being a writer at B&K Sports Magazine - is a dream come true. Since I got Alfons I have become better at planning, and using my time. Therefore it is great with a job where I can make my own schedule most of the time.
I don't quite know what my next goal will be. But one thing is for sure - I will compete again. During the autumn of '99 I will support the Athletic Fitness-girl Petra Lundin in her efforts for Athletic Fitness in October. This is something I find almost as enjoyable as competing myself. Petra is a girl with her curves in the right place (something she proved by winning the Symmetric round in last years edition of Athletic Fitness). It is fun to help a girl who is anxious to a podium position, and who I also feel have a healthy and good approach to training and competing.
To motivate others and inspire them to love to train and invest in their own body, is equal to invest in life. We are awarded with a body, why not take care of it in a good and healthy way?
